I was watching the 700 club and I saw a story unfold about a modern day Abraham. An Islamic man told the story of how he converted to Christianity and the were some similarities between his story and Abraham in Genesis.
Abraham that was on the 700 club had to leave his father’s house to develop a relationship with God. He was sent to America as missionary for Islam. Once on a campus in America he found bible in his native language. Prior to coming to America he had been trying to find a bible for four years. After reading a verse in Matthew he began to believe in Jesus.
God instructed Abraham in Genesis to leave his father’s house. After he left he began to develop a relationship with God. Abraham believed in something else before God called him.
Abraham on the 700 club told how God had began to deal with him while he was still practicing Islam. He had a recurring dream he went to hell. He prayed asking Allah what should he do. God provided him with signs to let him know he was listening.
I glad to have heard this story I always wonder about people who were not exposed to the gosepl, but this story is evidence and confrimation that God will call people, if there is not any missionaries or evanglist around. What a mightly living God we serve.
